CONGRATULATING FRANK GAGLIONE ON THE JOYOUS OCCASION OF HIS | |

100TH BIRTHDAY | |

     WHEREAS, Mr. Frank Gaglione was born ten decades ago on April 1st of 1913. During |
|

that year, Woodrow Wilson was inaugurated as the 28th President of the United States, it cost only |
|
1-3 |
2˘ to mail a letter, and the very first Federal Income Tax was signed into law on October 3rd; and |
|
1-4 |
     WHEREAS, Raised in the City of Providence’s Federal Hill neighborhood, Mr. Gaglione |
|
1-5 |
and his brothers and sister, Joseph, Peter, and Anna Fontana, were the children of Andrea and |
|
1-6 |
Maria Gaglione; and |
|
1-7 |
     WHEREAS, Mr. Gaglione is a graduate of Providence's public schools. A hard-working |
|
1-8 |
man, he was self-employed as a businessman for many years until his retirement; and |
|
1-9 |
     WHEREAS, Mr. Gaglione has resided in Cranston for the past seventy-two years, |
|
1-10 |
currently making his home with his granddaughter, Providence attorney Emili Vaziri. He and his |
|
1-11 |
late wife, Emily, had been married for 68 years and together were the parents of Barbara |
|
1-12 |
Megrdichian and the late Frank Gaglione. Mr. Gaglione is also the proud grandfather and great- |
|
1-13 |
grandfather of six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and |
|
1-14 |
     WHEREAS, With a wealth of knowledge from a life well-lived, a willingness to always |
|
1-15 |
help his family and friends, and an overall exuberance for life, Frank Gaglione has blessed those |
|
1-16 |
around him. We applaud his myriad accomplishments and are honored to join in the centennial |
|
1-17 |
celebration of his birth; now, therefore be it |
|
1-18 |
     RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations |
|
1-19 |
hereby joins the family and many friends of Frank Gaglione in wishing him a very happy 100th |
|
1-20 |
birthday. We wish him good health and much happiness for many years to come; and be it further |
|

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
|
2-2 |
transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Mr. Frank Gaglione. |
