EXPRESSING DEEPEST CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF JOHN W. ANDERSON | |

     WHEREAS, It is with utmost sadness that this Senate has learned of the passing of John |
|

W. Anderson, a widely-respected member of the Warwick community and the devoted husband |
|
1-3 |
of the late Rita M. Anderson; and |
|
1-4 |
     WHEREAS, Born in Brooklyn, New York, John Anderson was the son of the late Oscar |
|
1-5 |
and Josephine Anderson. A longtime resident of Warwick, Mr. Anderson had made his home in |
|
1-6 |
the city since 1935; and |
|
1-7 |
     WHEREAS, Mr. Anderson is survived by his loving children, John R. Anderson, Linda |
|
1-8 |
C. Mastrobuono, and Paula J. Martorelli. He was also the beloved "Gumpy" to eight beautiful |
|
1-9 |
grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, and was the father of the late Donna M. Flaherty, |
|
1-10 |
and grandfather of the late Timothy J. Packhem; and |
|
1-11 |
     WHEREAS, Mr. Anderson had served our country with honor and distinction in the |
|
1-12 |
United States Army Air Corps during World War II and will be buried with full military honors; |
|
1-13 |
and |
|
1-14 |
     WHEREAS, A hard-working man, Mr. Anderson had been employed as a sales |
|
1-15 |
representative for Heller Hope, and later for Golay Buchel, for 25 years, retiring in 1991. He had |
|
1-16 |
also been previously employed at Dieges & Clust for 22 years; and |
|
1-17 |
     WHEREAS, Committed to serving his community, Mr. Anderson was an active member |
|
1-18 |
of SS. Rose and Clement Parish in Warwick, and a former member of the Warwick Sewer |
|
1-19 |
Authority and the Ward 6 Democratic Committee; and |
|
1-20 |
     WHEREAS, John Anderson was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was a |
|
1-21 |
steadfast gentleman whose integrity and determination enriched the lives of all who knew him |
|
2-1 |
and was an inspiration to all; now, therefore be it |
|
2-2 |
     RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations |
|
2-3 |
hereby extends our sincere condolences on the passing of John W. Anderson; and be it further |
|
2-4 |
     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
|
2-5 |
transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to John R. Anderson and Family, Linda C. |
|
2-6 |
Mastrobuono and Family, and Paula J. Martorelli and Family. |
