RELATING TO TOWNS AND CITIES - THE TOWN OF COVENTRY - RETIREMENT

PLANS

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

     SECTION 1. Chapter 45-21 of the General Laws entitled "Retirement of Municipal

Employees" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section:

     45-21-8.2. Coventry municipal employees membership in system. – Eligible members

1-4

of the town of Coventry police officers' and municipal employees' retirement plans shall be

permitted to join the state administered municipal employees' retirement system upon the town's

1-6

payment of the necessary required contribution in no more than five (5) years.

     SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.

BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL
