It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |

SECTION 1. Section 29-7-8 of the General Laws in Chapter 29-7 entitled "State |
|

Publications Clearinghouse" is hereby amended to read as follows: |
|

29-7-8. Clearinghouse advisory committee. -- There shall be a state Publications |
|
1-4 |
Clearinghouse Advisory Committee. The committee shall consist of nine (9) members, five (5) of |
|
1-5 |
whom to be selected from the Clearinghouse member libraries and appointed by the State |
|
1-6 |
Librarian to two (2) year terms. The State Librarian and the Director of the Clearinghouse shall |
|
1-7 |
be ex-officio members of the committee. The chairperson of the CRIARL Government |
|
1-8 |
Documents Committee or designee, who shall be a member of the CRIARL committee, and a |
|
1-9 |
state agency representative designated by the chief library officer shall also be ex-officio |
|
1-10 |
members. The purpose of the Committee shall be to advise the State Librarian and the |
|
1-11 |
Clearinghouse Director on the operation of the State Publications Clearinghouse for Libraries. |
|
1-12 |
The Committee shall meet quarterly and shall elect a chairperson to preside at meetings, and a |
|
1-13 |
secretary to record the meeting minutes and distribute them to the Clearinghouse depository |
|
1-14 |
libraries. |
|
1-15 |
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. |
