RECOGNIZING AND COMMENDING SEAN FAY-WOLFE ON ACHIEVING SCOUTING'S | |
|
MOST DISTINGUISHED HONOR, THE RANK OF EAGLE SCOUT | |
|

     WHEREAS, The Boy Scouts of America has a long and impressive history of preparing |
|
1-2 |
young men to assume responsibility in their communities. Sean Fay-Wolfe is such an |
|
1-3 |
extraordinary young man and his accomplishments as a Boy Scout are truly worthy and deserving |
|
1-4 |
of our recognition and praise; and |
|
1-5 |
     WHEREAS, Not every boy, nor even every Scout, qualifies for the high rank of Eagle. |
|
1-6 |
Strenuous physical hurdles, high mental requirements, strong personal character, indomitable |
|
1-7 |
spirit, and a commitment to community service are a rare combination of qualities and |
|
1-8 |
achievements to find in one person; and |
|
1-9 |
     WHEREAS, Sean has distinguished himself through his continued performance of |
|
1-10 |
service in Scouting. He has demonstrated exemplary leadership abilities and has exhibited a |
|
1-11 |
strong sense of duty, honor, and patriotism, making him a clear example of the best qualities of |
|
1-12 |
American youth; and |
|
1-13 |
     WHEREAS, Sean, a member of Troop 1, Kingston, Rhode Island, has held several |
|
1-14 |
leadership positions, including Librarian, Instructor, Troop Guide, and Historian. As the |
|
1-15 |
Historian, he devoted countless hours and an amazing amount of energy developing the Historian |
|
1-16 |
website. He has demonstrated wide-ranging abilities, effective skills, and the kind of self |
|
1-17 |
confidence that makes him a worthy leader; and |
|
1-18 |
     WHEREAS, Learning important lifelong skills and values, Sean earned fifty merit |
|
1-19 |
badges. Sean also earned several special awards, such as the Abnaki Lodge, Order of the Arrow, |
|
1-20 |
which is Scouting’s honor society, and two Roman Catholic Boy Scouts awards, the Ad Altri Dei |
|
2-1 |
award and the Pope Pius XII award; and |
|
2-2 |
     WHEREAS, Sean has completed the arduous and demanding requirements necessary to |
|
2-3 |
be awarded the rank of Eagle Scout. As the highlight of his scouting years and to complete the |
|
2-4 |
final step toward obtaining the rank of Eagle, Sean planned, developed, and carried out an |
|
2-5 |
extensive Eagle Scout service project. His Eagle Project was to construct and install shades on the |
|
2-6 |
top of the outdoor dog kennels and outdoor exercise/play area at the South Kingstown Animal |
|
2-7 |
Shelter; and |
|
2-8 |
     WHEREAS, Sean is the son of Dr. Victor Fay-Wolfe and Kelli Fay-Wolfe, and is |
|
2-9 |
currently in his Sophomore year at South Kingstown High School, where he is a four-time All |
|
2-10 |
State Violist and a member of the Science and Mathematics Initiative for Learning Enhancement. |
|
2-11 |
Sean has been a committed volunteer Den Chief for the Cub Scouts Pack 6 in West Kingston and |
|
2-12 |
is a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Shorin Ryu Shidokan; and |
|
2-13 |
     WHEREAS, It is essential and fitting to recognize the triumphs of our youth and to |
|
2-14 |
celebrate the accomplishments of our future leaders. Sean Fay-Wolfe is a remarkable young man |
|
2-15 |
who exemplifies everything an Eagle Scout should be, and all that we hope our children will |
|
2-16 |
grow to be; now, therefore be it |
|
2-17 |
     RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations |
|
2-18 |
hereby honors Sean Fay-Wolfe for his service to the community and for setting a high standard of |
|
2-19 |
commitment and dedication by which youth of this great state may follow. We congratulate him |
|
2-20 |
for all he has done to attain the rank of Eagle, and extend our very best wishes for good health |
|
2-21 |
and happiness in the months and years ahead; and be it further |
|
2-22 |
     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
|
2-23 |
transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Eagle Scout Sean Fay-Wolfe. |
