It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |

SECTION 1. Section 4-1-3.1 of the General Laws in Chapter 4-1 entitled "Cruelty to |
|

Animals" is hereby amended to read as follows: |
|

4-1-3.1. Prohibited practices in destruction of animals. -- It is unlawful for any |
|
1-4 |
veterinarian or owner, as defined in section 4-1-1, or any agent of a veterinarian or owner, or any |
|
1-5 |
other person to destroy any animal by the use of a high altitude decompression chamber |
|
1-6 |
|
|
1-7 |
chamber or container designed to utilize carbon monoxide (CO) gas and/or any other gas harmful |
|
1-8 |
to the animal. Violation of this section is punishable by a fine of five hundred dollars ($500). |
|
1-9 |
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. |
