THANKING ROLAND PROULX FOR EIGHT YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE | |
RHODE ISLAND GENERAL ASSEMBLY AND OFFERING HEARTY | |
CONGRATULATIONS ON HIS ENGAGEMENT | |

     WHEREAS, Roland Proulx may very well be one of the luckiest men on the House Floor |

this legislative session. After eight years serving the General Assembly as a Page and currently |
1-3 |
as Head Page, Rolly has convinced Liz Habershaw, the House Assistant Head Page, to marry |
1-4 |
him; and |
1-5 |
     WHEREAS, In 2006, Rolly began working as a House Page after his then-classmate Liz |
1-6 |
Habershaw recommended him for the position. At the time, the two were students together at La |
1-7 |
Salle Academy. An industrious young man, Rolly also worked as a bus boy and later in room |
1-8 |
service at the Crowne Plaza Hotel; and |
1-9 |
     WHEREAS, After graduation from high school, Rolly continued to work at the State |
1-10 |
House in the late afternoon and evening while spending his days attending Johnson & Wales |
1-11 |
University, where he earned his B.S. degree in Hotel Management and his M.B.A. in Hospitality; |
1-12 |
and |
1-13 |
     WHEREAS, From 2006 until 2008, Rolly also worked as a Teaching Assistant at J & |
1-14 |
W’s practicum hotel and in July of 2011, he became a Guest Service Agent for the Front Office at |
1-15 |
the Marriott Hotel in Providence; and |
1-16 |
     WHEREAS, With a flourish and style he must have acquired from watching numerous |
1-17 |
House Legislative sessions, Rolly proposed to Liz on the top of Mt. Cannon in New Hampshire |
1-18 |
on June 3rd of 2013. She voted yes; and |
1-19 |
     WHEREAS, Roland Proulx has been a dedicated and hard-working employee and he will |
1-20 |
be greatly missed. He has not only earned our gratitude and praise for a job well done, but also |
2-1 |
our admiration and respect for building a future that is bright with promise; now, therefore be it |
2-2 |
     RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and |
2-3 |
Providence Plantations hereby thanks Roland Proulx for his eight years of dedicated service to the |
2-4 |
Rhode Island General Assembly. We moreover wish him a lifetime filled with bliss and a happy |
2-5 |
marriage; and be it further |
2-6 |
     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
2-7 |
transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Mr. Roland Proulx. |
