RELATING TO TOWNS AND CITIES -- TOWN MEETINGS

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

     SECTION 1. Chapter 45-3 of the General Laws entitled "Town Meetings" is hereby

amended by adding thereto the following section:

     45-3-20.1. Voting at financial town meetings. -- Whenever it is necessary to vote at a

financial town meeting, there shall be no voice votes and only paper ballots or stand-up votes

shall be used so that appropriate documentation of the vote will be registered.

     SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
