H O U S E R E S O L U T I O N

RECOGNIZING AND HONORING THE REVEREND REBECCA SPENCER ON THE

OCCASION OF HER 25TH ANNIVERSARY AS SENIOR MINISTER AT CENTRAL

CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH

     WHEREAS, For the past twenty-five years, The Reverend Rebecca Spencer has been

providing her parishioners with the leadership and guidance necessary to attain spiritual growth at

1-3

the Central Congregational Church, United Church of Christ, in Providence, Rhode Island; and

1-4

     WHEREAS, Reverend Spencer has proven to be a dynamic and vibrant force not only

1-5

within the church, but also in the community and on national and worldwide mission work; and

1-6

     WHEREAS, Reverend Spencer has spent most of her life in devout service to God.

Through that unification, she has served and blessed the faithful, enriched the spiritual lives of

1-8

many Rhode Islanders, and earned our total respect and admiration for her achievements; now,

1-9

therefore be it 

1-10

     RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and

1-11

Providence Plantations is hereby pleased to honor and congratulate The Reverend Rebecca

1-12

Spencer on the joyous occasion of the 25th Anniversary as Senior Minister at Central

1-13

Congregational Church.  May she have good health and many more years of benevolent service to

1-14

her fellow man; and be it further

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

2-16

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to The Reverend Rebecca Spencer.
