RECOGNIZING AND COMMENDING JEAN-MICHEL ARCAND UPON ACHIEVING | |

SCOUTING'S MOST DISTINGUISHED HONOR, THE RANK OF EAGLE SCOUT | |

WHEREAS, Earning an Eagle Scout Badge is the pinnacle of achievement within the |

Boy Scouts of America. It is an exceptional distinction achieved by fewer than five percent of all |
|

the young men who enter scouting; and |
|
1-4 |
WHEREAS, Jean-Michel Arcand is a remarkable young man worthy of this prestigious |
|
1-5 |
achievement and his accomplishments are truly deserving of our recognition; and |
|
1-6 |
WHEREAS, Learning important lifelong skills and values, Jean-Michel of Troop 1, |
|
1-7 |
Diamond Hill, Cumberland, earned a myriad of merit badges and held a variety of leadership |
|
1-8 |
positions, all while exemplifying the skills and leadership an Eagle Scout must adhere to; and |
|
1-9 |
WHEREAS, As the highlight of his scouting years and to complete the final step toward |
|
1-10 |
obtaining the rank of Eagle Scout, Jean-Michel planned, developed, and carried out an extensive |
|
1-11 |
Eagle Scout service project, organizing a pet food drive which raised more than 600 pounds of |
|
1-12 |
food for the Cumberland Animal Shelter. His project stands as an outstanding example of his |
|
1-13 |
involvement in and concern for the citizens of Cumberland; and |
|
1-14 |
WHEREAS, It is essential and fitting to recognize the triumphs of our youth, and to |
|
1-15 |
celebrate the accomplishments of our future leaders. Jean-Michel exemplifies everything an Eagle |
|
1-16 |
Scout should be and all that we hope our children will grow to be; now, therefore be it |
|
1-17 |
RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and |
|
1-18 |
Providence Plantations hereby honors Jean-Michel Arcand for all he has done to attain the rank of |
|
1-19 |
Eagle within the Boy Scouts of America; and be it further |
|
2-20 |
RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives extends our deepest appreciation to |
|
2-21 |
Jean-Michel Arcand for his untiring service to the community and for setting a high standard of |
|
2-22 |
commitment and dedication by which youth of this great state may follow. We offer our very best |
|
2-23 |
wishes for good health and happiness in the months and years ahead; and be it further |
|
2-24 |
RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
|
2-25 |
transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Jean-Michel Arcand. |
