HONORING CAPTAIN BILL HALL OF THE CENTRAL COVENTRY FIRE DISTRICT FOR | |
HIS TWENTY-ONE YEARS OF DEDICATED AND DEVOTED SERVICE TO THE | |
CITIZENS OF RHODE ISLAND | |

     WHEREAS, Captain Bill Hall of the Central Coventry Fire District is the loving husband |

of Tracey and devoted father of Sarah. A man who has devoted his life to the protection of others, |

Captain Hall began his distinguished firefighting career in 1992, when he was appointed to serve |
1-4 |
with the Washington Fire district; and |
1-5 |
     WHEREAS, Over the years, he rose through the ranks due to his tireless work ethic, his |
1-6 |
innovative approach to problem-solving, and his insightful management. With an intense desire to |
1-7 |
better himself on behalf of his service to others, Captain Hall has been an example of a dedicated |
1-8 |
lifelong learner. A Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator and a Certified Arson Investigator, |
1-9 |
he was the Founder of the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) in Coventry, a |
1-10 |
Founding Member of the Coventry Arson Task Force, and the Founder of the Juvenile Fire- |
1-11 |
setting Education Program for Coventry. He was also the Public Education Officer for the Central |
1-12 |
Coventry Fire District; and |
1-13 |
     WHEREAS, On May 17, 2009, in recognition of his leadership skills and |
1-14 |
accomplishments, Lieutenant Bill Hall was promoted to be Captain of the Central Coventry Fire |
1-15 |
District, which is comprised of the Washington Fire District along with the Harris Fire District |
1-16 |
and the Tiogue Fire District; and |
1-17 |
     WHEREAS, Captain Hall is also committed to serving his community and making it a |
1-18 |
better place to live in, work in, and raise a family. He was elected to the Coventry Town Council |
1-19 |
and served his constituents with honor and integrity for a number of years. He also served as |
1-20 |
Chairman of the Coventry Town Council Sewer Sub-Committee. He was also the Founding |
2-1 |
member and Coach of the Coventry Firefighter’s Softball team; and |
2-2 |
     WHEREAS, An avid sports fan, Captain Hall loves the Boston Red Sox as much as he |
2-3 |
loves Coventry; now, therefore be it |
2-4 |
     RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and |
2-5 |
Providence Plantations hereby thanks Captain Bill Hall of the Central Coventry Fire District for |
2-6 |
his twenty-one years of distinguished and devoted service to the citizens of Coventry and for his |
2-7 |
countless contributions to the community; and be it further |
2-8 |
     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
2-9 |
transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Mrs. Tracey Hall. |
