It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |

     SECTION 1. Section 28-29-1.3 of the General Laws in Chapter 28-29 entitled "Workers' |
|

Compensation - General Provisions" is hereby amended to read as follows: |

     28-29-1.3. Jurisdiction of Workers' Compensation Act. -- The provisions of chapters |
|
1-4 |
29 -- 38 of this title shall apply to any and all employees, as defined in section 28-29-2(4), who |
|
1-5 |
are injured |
|
1-6 |
     SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. |

     This act would provide that the provisions of the workers' compensation act would apply |

to any and all employees who are injured and would remove the provision which requires that the |

person be hired in the State of Rhode Island. |
