RELATING TO HEALTH AND SAFETY -- RHODE ISLAND RESOURCE RECOVERY

CORPORATION

     Introduced By: Representatives Ucci, Carnevale, Fellela, and Costantino

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

     SECTION 1. Chapter 23-19 of the General Laws entitled "Rhode Island Resource

Recovery Corporation" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section:

     23-19-31.1. Prohibition of recyclable material and waste. -- (a) No recyclable

materials or waste shall be disposed of at the central landfill.

     (b) The Rhode Island resource and recovery corporation shall promulgate any rules and

regulations that may be necessary to enforce the mandates contained in this section.

     SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
