RELATING TO TOWNS AND CITIES -- ELECTRONIC NOTICE

     Introduced By: Representatives Giarrusso, Morgan, Hull, and McLaughlin

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

     SECTION 1. Title 45 of the General Laws entitled "TOWNS AND CITIES" is hereby

amended by adding thereto the following chapter:

     CHAPTER 66

ELECTRONIC NOTICE

     45-66-1. Electronic notice. -- Whenever a municipality or other local governmental

1-6

agency or entity is required by law or ordinance to publish a public notice in a newspaper in this

1-7

state, the same public notice shall be posted on the website of the municipality or other local

1-8

governmental agency or entity if it maintains one.

     SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
