RELATING TO HEALTH AND SAFETY - DIVISION OF FIRE SAFETY

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

     SECTION 1. Chapter 23-28.2 of the General Laws entitled "Division of Fire Safety" is

hereby amended by adding thereto the following section:

     23-28.2-30. Inspection period. – Any building which is inspected pursuant to this title

1-4

and which has corrected all nonwaived deficiencies shall be exempt from further inspections for a

1-5

period of ten (10) years.

     SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.

EXPLANATION

BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL

     This act would provide that once a building owner corrects any deficiency pursuant to

this chapter, the building shall be exempt from inspections for ten (10) years.

     This act would take effect upon passage.
