A N A C T

RELATING TO BUSINESSES AND PROFESSIONS - LAND SURVEYORS

     Introduced By: Representatives Winfield, and Martin

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

     SECTION 1. Section 5-8.1-4.1 of the General Laws in Chapter 5-8.1 entitled "Land

Surveyors" is hereby amended to read as follows:

     5-8.1-4.1. Continuing education exemption. -- Notwithstanding any law, rule or

regulation to the contrary, any person who was registered as a professional land surveyor in the

1-5

state of Rhode Island before July 1, 1975, will be exempt from any continuing education

1-6

requirements as may be established by the board of land surveyors of the state of Rhode Island.

Any person who has been a professional land surveyor in this state for a minimum of thirty (30)

1-8

years is exempt from any continuing education requirements.

     SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
