A N A C T

RELATING TO EDUCATION -- HEALTH AND SAFETY OF PUPILS

     Introduced By: Representatives Corvese, Malik, Palangio, Azzinaro, and Gallison

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

     SECTION 1. Chapter 16-21 of the General Laws entitled "Health and Safety of Pupils" is

hereby amended by adding thereto the following section:

     16-21-35. Guards at school buildings. – The school committees of various cities, towns,

1-4

and school districts, shall appoint a guard to each school building within their jurisdiction. The

1-5

guard shall protect the safety of all students and school personnel and preserve order at each

1-6

school.

     SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
