RELATING TO HOLIDAYS AND DAYS OF SPECIAL OBSERVANCE

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

     SECTION 1. Chapter 25-2 of the General Laws entitled "Days of Special Observance" is

hereby amended by adding thereto the following section:

     25-2-54. Military nurses day. – The first Monday of June shall annually be set apart as a

1-4

day dedicated to Rhode Island military nurses who served their country in all wars, campaigns,

1-5

and engagements throughout the world. This day may be observed by the people of this state with

1-6

appropriate exercises in public places.

     SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
