CONGRATULATING STEVE AND CATHY DELPOZZO ON BEING AWARDED THE | |

RICHMOND GRANGE #6 COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD 2012 | |

     WHEREAS, From judging square dance contests, trucking dairy heifers, and serving on a |
|

multitude of committees, to traveling as coaches and chaperones, Steve and Cathy DelPozzo have |
|
1-3 |
contributed to the community in ways that are too numerous to mention and that have earned |
|
1-4 |
them the gratitude of the Richmond Grange #6; and |
|
1-5 |
     WHEREAS, Steve and Cathy’s exemplary volunteer activities include long-term support |
|
1-6 |
of the 4-H program, coaching youth sports, chaperoning recreational programs, and ensuring the |
|
1-7 |
presence of healthy options for kids at summer events; and |
|
1-8 |
     WHEREAS, Steve and Cathy have a long history of involvement with 4-H. They raised |
|
1-9 |
their children, Mike, Keith, and Tammy, in the program, and have continued to make 4-H a part |
|
1-10 |
of their lives long after their kids finished their participation; and |
|
1-11 |
     WHEREAS, Steve, also known affectionately as “Pappa D,” has been an outstanding and |
|
1-12 |
enthusiastic coach, leading the Rhode Island 4-H Dairy Quiz bowl team to eight wins at the |
|
1-13 |
Eastern States Exposition Regional contest and bringing the teams to compete at the Nationals in |
|
1-14 |
Kentucky; and |
|
1-15 |
     WHEREAS, Cathy has chaperoned the 4-H dairy girls at the Big E dorm for over thirty |
|
1-16 |
years, has worked on several committees during the dairy event, and has passed out ribbons |
|
1-17 |
during the shows. Always keeping the girls safe and on time, Cathy was the well-respected “go to |
|
1-18 |
person of reason” for many of the New England 4-H events; and |
|
1-19 |
     WHEREAS, A dynamic couple, Steve and Cathy have given much of their lives and time |
|
1-20 |
to help others, benefiting many and becoming indispensable pillars of the community; now, |
|
2-1 |
therefore be it |
|

     RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations |
|
2-3 |
hereby congratulates Steve and Cathy DelPozzo on being awarded the 2012 Richmond Grange #6 |
|
2-4 |
Community Service Award; and be it further |
|
2-5 |
     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and he hereby is authorized and directed to |
|
2-6 |
transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Steve and Cathy DelPozzo. |
