CONGRATULATING MIKE AND SUSAN SOSNOWSKI ON BEING NAMED | |

"AGRICULTURISTS OF THE YEAR" BY THE RICHMOND GRANGE | |

WHEREAS, The husband and wife team of Mike and Susan Sosnowski has received the |
|

prestigious honor of being named “Agriculturists of the Year” by the Richmond Grange. This |
|
1-3 |
award is presented to persons who are deeply committed to “farming the land” and the traditions |
|
1-4 |
and values that farming promotes; and |
|
1-5 |
WHEREAS, Outstanding members of the South County community, Mike and Susan |
|
1-6 |
have owned and operated the Sosnowski farm since 1984. Employing organic farming |
|
1-7 |
techniques, the farm produces a panoply of fresh veggies that are available for purchase at their |
|
1-8 |
farm stand, as well as at the Winter Farmers Market at the Peace Dale Mill Complex; and |
|
1-9 |
WHEREAS, In addition to being a farmer, Mike is a mechanic and welder. He also |
|
1-10 |
donates his time at the Washington County Fair, where he assists in judging various agriculture |
|
1-11 |
exhibits; and |
|
1-12 |
WHEREAS, Our friend and colleague, Susan, has represented the people of District 37 in |
|
1-13 |
the Rhode Island Senate since being first elected in November of 1996. She takes a keen interest |
|
1-14 |
in protecting our state’s natural resources and environment, as well as in all things that live and |
|
1-15 |
grow in our state; and |
|
1-16 |
WHEREAS, The Sosnowskis are farmers. And as such, they are responsible for |
|
1-17 |
providing the necessities of everyday life for many of us. Their passionate commitment to |
|
1-18 |
agriculture and our state has distinguished them as persons worthy of our utmost admiration and |
|
1-19 |
gratitude; now, therefore be it |
|

RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations |
|
2-21 |
hereby congratulates Mike and Susan Sosnowski on being named “Agriculturists of the Year” by |
|
2-22 |
the Richmond Grange. We commend them for their many extraordinary achievements and |
|
2-23 |
contributions and wish them continued health, happiness, and success in all their future |
|
2-24 |
endeavors; and be it further |
|
2-25 |
RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and he hereby is authorized and directed to |
|
2-26 |
transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to The Honorable Susan Sosnowski and Mike |
|
2-27 |
Sosnowski. |
