CONGRATULATING LIEUTENANT DAVID RICHARDSON FOR BEING NAMED THE

RICHMOND GRANGE #6 2012 COMMUNITY SERVICE "FIREFIGHTER OF THE YEAR"

     WHEREAS, We have learned that the Richmond Grange #6 is honoring its 2012

Firefighter of the Year, Lieutenant David Richardson of the Richmond Carolina Fire Department;

and

1-4

     WHEREAS, Shortly after joining the Richmond Carolina Fire Department in 2002,

1-5

David Richardson was elected “Rookie Firefighter of the Year.” In 2004, he was elected by his

1-6

peers as “Firefighter of the Year” within the department, and in 2006 he was promoted to

1-7

Lieutenant. Within the department, David headed the training division for two years. Currently,

1-8

he is a firefighter, EMT, and driver in the department. He also plays an intricate role of running

1-9

the food booth at the Washington County Fair. This is a huge undertaking that requires a

1-10

tremendous amount of hard work and meticulous attention to endless details. David’s vast

1-11

knowledge and his willingness to share that knowledge have immensely benefited his

1-12

community; and

1-13

     WHEREAS, The Richmond Carolina Fire Department is composed of volunteers like

1-14

Lieutenant Richardson, and these community members are always on hand to assist with

1-15

whatever fire emergency there may be; now, therefore be it

1-16

     RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations

1-17

hereby congratulates Lieutenant David Richardson on being named Richmond Grange #6 2012

1-18

Community Service Firefighter of the Year. We wish him many years of health and prosperity;

1-19

and be it further

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and he hereby is authorized and directed to

2-21

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Lieutenant David Richardson.
