CONGRATULATING DETECTIVE TREVOR RICHMOND FOR BEING NAMED THE | |

RICHMOND GRANGE #6 2012 COMMUNITY SERVICE | |

"POLICE OFFICER OF THE YEAR" | |

     WHEREAS, We have learned that the Richmond Grange #6 is proud to honor Detective |
|

Trevor Richmond as its 2012 Police Officer of the Year; and |
|
1-3 |
     WHEREAS, Detective Richmond, a sixth generation resident of South Kingstown, |
|
1-4 |
graduated from South Kingstown High School and furthered his education by attending |
|
1-5 |
Roger Williams University, where he received his bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice in |
|
1-6 |
2003; and |
|
1-7 |
     WHEREAS, Detective Richmond, a seven-year veteran of the South Kingstown Police |
|
1-8 |
Department, has achieved his self-professed childhood dream of being a policeman; and |
|
1-9 |
     WHEREAS, Never one to remain idle, while working toward his degree, Detective |
|
1-10 |
Richmond held a position in the Community Service Department within the Narragansett |
|
1-11 |
Police Department; and |
|
1-12 |
     WHEREAS, Detective Richmond is described by friends and colleagues as a “cop’s |
|
1-13 |
cop” and a “man’s man.” His “no-nonsense approach” and “innate powers of observation” |
|
1-14 |
have not only earned him the respect of his peers, but also the appreciation of residents |
|
1-15 |
within the community; and |
|
1-16 |
     WHEREAS, Detective Richmond’s dedication and commitment have distinguished |
|
1-17 |
him as a person worthy of this illustrious honor and he is deserving of our utmost admiration |
|
1-18 |
and gratitude; and |
|
2-19 |
     WHEREAS, Detective Richmond’s conduct reflects positively upon himself, upon fellow |
|
2-20 |
police officers, and upon the South Kingstown Police Department that he serves; now, therefore |
|
2-21 |
be it |
|

     RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations |
|
2-23 |
hereby honors and congratulates Detective Trevor Richmond on receiving the 2012 Community |
|
2-24 |
Service Police Officer of the Year Award. We wish him continued success in all future |
|
2-25 |
endeavors; and be it further |
|
2-26 |
     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and he hereby is authorized and directed to |
|
2-27 |
transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Detective Trevor Richmond. |
