RELATING TO TOWNS AND CITIES - DAM MANAGEMENT DISTRICTS

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

     SECTION 1. Chapter 45-62 of the General Laws entitled "Dam Management Districts" is

hereby amended by adding thereto the following section:

     45-62-5.1. Immunity from civil liability. – Pascoag Reservoir Dam Management

District created pursuant to this chapter shall be immune from civil liability for any tort

1-5

committed upon any lake bed the Pascoag Reservoir Dam Management District may acquire,

hold, use or lease pursuant to section 42-62-3.

     SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.

BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL

     This act would grant dam management districts immunity from civil liability for any tort
