A N A C T

RELATING TO DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION - HIGHWAYS

     Introduced By: Senators Doyle, Nesselbush, and Tassoni

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

     SECTION 1. There shall be established a fund to provide grants to businesses located in

the city of Pawtucket which have suffered financial hardship as a result of the traffic disruptions

during the Pawtucket River Bridge #550 Project. The fund will be located at and administered by

the economic development corporation to provide grants in pro-rated amounts of no greater than

1-5

twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000) per business for demonstrated damages. The economic

1-6

development corporation is hereby directed to adopt rules, standards, guidelines and eligibility

1-7

qualifications in its administration of the fund.

     SECTION 2. There is hereby appropriated for fiscal year 2013 the sum of one hundred

1-9

thousand dollars ($100,000) for purposes of said fund.

     SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon passage.

     This act would require the economic development corporation to administer a $100,000

fund established to compensate qualified businesses which have suffered financial loss as a result

of the disruption to traffic caused by the Pawtucket River Bridge Project.
