EXPRESSING CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF WALTER L. GIBSON | |

     WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that we have learned of the passing of Walter L. |
|

Gibson, a man who was deeply devoted to his family and friends. He was the beloved husband of |
|
1-3 |
the late Louise (Zangrilli) Gibson. Our thoughts and hearts hold great empathy and sorrow for his |
|
1-4 |
children, Larry Gibson and his wife, Sue, Christine Giblin and her husband, Terry, Janet Whiteley |
|
1-5 |
and her husband, Ted, and Karen Gibson. He was also the cherished grandfather of six and was |
|
1-6 |
the brother of Robert Gibson. Walter was preceded in death by his siblings Ella Peterson, Eugene |
|
1-7 |
Gibson, and Marguerite Bokker; and |
|
1-8 |
     WHEREAS, Walter was born in Capron, Illinois, a son of the late John and Elizabeth |
|
1-9 |
(Coulter) Gibson; and |
|
1-10 |
     WHEREAS, Mr. Gibson was a sheet metal worker for the Local #17 and retired from |
|
1-11 |
Amtrak. Walter was a Korean War veteran who served in the United States Navy; and |
|
1-12 |
     WHEREAS, Even though we are diminished by this loss and mourn the passing of |
|
1-13 |
Walter, so must we celebrate the spirit, generosity, and courage with which he lived every day of |
|
1-14 |
his life; and |
|
1-15 |
     WHEREAS, A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother, Walter L. Gibson will |
|
1-16 |
live on for many years to come in the memories of everyone fortunate enough to have been |
|
1-17 |
touched by the quality of this remarkable gentleman; now, therefore be it |
|
1-18 |
     RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations |
|
1-19 |
hereby expresses our deepest sympathy to the Gibson Family; and be it further |
|
1-20 |
     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and he hereby is authorized and directed to |
|
1-21 |
transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to Larry Gibson, Christine Giblin, Janet Whiteley, |
|
2-1 |
and Karen Gibson. |
