RELATING TO MOTOR AND OTHER VEHICLES - SIZE, WEIGHT AND LOAD LIMITS

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

     SECTION 1. Chapter 31-25 of the General Laws entitled "Size, Weight, and Load

Limits" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section:

     31-25-27.7. Restriction on transportation of jet fuel on Limerock Road, Smithfield,

Rhode Island. – (a) No motor vehicle transporting jet fuel shall be allowed to travel on Limerock

Road, in the town of Smithfield, Rhode Island.

     (b) The director of the department of transportation is directed to post signs giving notice

1-7

of the prohibition stated in subsection (a) of this section.

     (c) Violations of this section shall be punishable by a fine of fifty dollars ($50.00) for the

1-9

first offense and, not to exceed one hundred dollars ($100) for each and every subsequent offense.

     SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
