CONGRATULATING CARL LEBOVITZ ON ATTAINING THE RANK OF EAGLE SCOUT | |

     WHEREAS, It is an extraordinary young man who chooses to dedicate himself to the |
|

service of others by practicing the noble ideals of the Scout Oath and Scout Law; and |
|
1-3 |
     WHEREAS, Not every boy, nor even every Scout, has the perseverance and |
|
1-4 |
determination to rise above the rest and attain the rank of Eagle Scout. Carl Lebovitz is just such |
|
1-5 |
a first rate youth, and his accomplishments are truly deserving of our recognition; and |
|
1-6 |
     WHEREAS, Carl Lebovitz, a leader and member of Boy Scout Troop 1, East Greenwich, |
|
1-7 |
has held many leadership positions, including Troop Instructor, Patrol Leader, and Assistant |
|
1-8 |
Senior Patrol Leader; and |
|
1-9 |
     WHEREAS, Using his skills and abilities for the common good, Carl completed the |
|
1-10 |
necessary number of Merit Badges. Through perseverance and determination, he has attained the |
|
1-11 |
highest rank in scouting, the Eagle, by meeting all the extensive requirements. He is also a |
|
1-12 |
member of the Order of the Arrow as an Ordeal Member, and was selected to attend the White |
|
1-13 |
Stag Leadership Training; and |
|
1-14 |
     WHEREAS, Carl’s Eagle Service Project was to take on the challenge of working with |
|
1-15 |
the Audubon Society of Rhode Island to produce trail signs for two of its properties. The project |
|
1-16 |
required him to coordinate efforts between the sign manufacturer and the Audubon Society |
|
1-17 |
Representative to have paper trail maps translated into freestanding signs. Carl then assembled |
|
1-18 |
and installed the signs on site with the help of other scouts and friends. Carl and fellow scouts |
|
1-19 |
devoted countless hours and an amazing amount of energy carrying out this project; and |
|
1-20 |
     WHEREAS, Currently a senior at East Greenwich High School, Carl participates in all |
|
1-21 |
aspects of school life. His activities include playing football, for which he was elected as co- |
|
2-1 |
captain this year. After graduation he plans on attending college to pursue new experiences, |
|
2-2 |
particularly studying abroad; and |
|
2-3 |
     WHEREAS, Attaining the rank of Eagle Scout is a significant achievement very few men |
|
2-4 |
will ever reach in their lives. Carl Lebovitz upholds the dignity and virtue of a true Eagle, and has |
|
2-5 |
proven himself to be worthy of trust and a truly dynamic leader; now therefore be it |
|
2-6 |
     RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations |
|
2-7 |
hereby honors Carl Lebovitz on attaining the rank of Eagle Scout. Convinced that Carl's |
|
2-8 |
distinguished career in Scouting will prepare him for a life replete with accomplishments and |
|
2-9 |
success, the members of the Senate are certain that he will continue to dedicate a large part of that |
|
2-10 |
life to the service of others; and be it further |
|
2-11 |
     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and he hereby is authorized and directed to |
|
2-12 |
transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Eagle Scout Carl Lebovitz. |
