CONGRATULATING ROBERT M. BEAGLE ON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT | |
AS VICE PRESIDENT FOR ADVANCEMENT AT THE UNIVERSITY OF RHODE ISLAND | |

     WHEREAS, The longest serving and one of the most forward-thinking vice presidents in |

the history of the University of Rhode Island, Robert Beagle has more than 30 years of |
1-3 |
experience in higher education, among the longest tenures as a vice president in the advancement |
1-4 |
field nationally; and |
1-5 |
     WHEREAS, Bob’s storied career at the University of Rhode Island has been a model of |
1-6 |
enthusiastic and truly dedicated leadership in several areas that have been crucial to the |
1-7 |
university’s progress, including the first-ever capital campaign, five subsequent major |
1-8 |
fundraising campaigns, expansion of the alumni information system, and a university-wide |
1-9 |
branding initiative; and |
1-10 |
     WHEREAS, Combining critical institutional knowledge with impressive relationships |
1-11 |
with alumni and the state’s corporate and legislative leadership, Bob established the framework to |
1-12 |
guide the University into the future, creating much of the structure that will help meet URI’s 21st |
1-13 |
Century Transformational Goals ; and |
1-14 |
     WHEREAS, In the wake of all the lives and hearts of the countless people he has |
1-15 |
touched, Bob now moves on to future adventures. He will be truly missed by the faculty, students, |
1-16 |
alumni, and parents of the University of Rhode Island; now, therefore be it |
1-17 |
     RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and |
1-18 |
Providence Plantations hereby recognizes, honors, and thanks Robert M. Beagle on the occasion |
1-19 |
of his retirement after many years of steadfast and unselfish service with the University of Rhode |
1-20 |
Island. We wish him good health, fulfillment, and continued success in all his future endeavors; |

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and he hereby is authorized and directed to |
2-3 |
transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Robert M. Beagle. |
