RELATING TO STATE AFFAIRS AND GOVERNMENT - STATE SAILING EDUCATION

VESSEL

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

     SECTION 1. Section 42-4-14 of the General Laws in Chapter 42-4 entitled "State

Emblems" is hereby amended to read as follows:

     42-4-14. State flagships. – (a) The replica of the Continental sailing vessel known as

"Providence" is hereby designated as the official flagship and tall ship ambassador of the state.

     (b) The class A size tall ship known as “SSV Oliver Hazard Perry” is hereby designated

as the official sailing education vessel of the state.

     SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
