It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |

SECTION 1. Section 16-7-18 of the General Laws in Chapter 16-7 entitled "Foundation |
|

Level School Support" is hereby amended to read as follows: |
|

16-7-18. Determination of mandated minimum program level. -- The mandated |
|
1-4 |
minimum program level shall be determined annually, and not more than one time per fiscal year, |
|
1-5 |
by |
|
1-6 |
|
|
1-7 |
secondary education, and each local educational agency and school committee. The auditor |
|
1-8 |
general shall not be subject to influence by, or seek the approval of the board of regents, Rhode |
|
1-9 |
Island department of education or the commissioner of elementary and secondary education. |

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. |
