A N A C T

RELATING TO HUMAN SERVICES - THE DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES

     Introduced By: Representatives Costa, Morgan, Newberry, and Reilly

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

     SECTION 1. Chapter 40-1 of the General Laws entitled "Department of Human

Services" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section:

     40-1-17. Long-term care continuing education. – The department of human services is

1-4

hereby empowered and directed to develop and offer a continuing classroom education course(s).

The classroom course(s) shall be available, but, not limited to, lawyers, accountants, insurance

1-6

professionals and finance professionals and shall provide instruction and information on long-

1-7

term insurance and planning. The department of human services shall promulgate whatever rules

1-8

and regulations necessary to implement the provisions of this section including, but, not limited

1-9

to, the length and cost of the course.

     SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
