EXPRESSING CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF LOUIS R. STRAVATO | |

     WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that this House has learned of the passing of Louis |
|

R. Stravato, a longtime resident of the City of Providence and the devoted husband of 50 years to |
|
1-3 |
Dorothy N. Stravato. He was also the loving father of Louis Stravato, Thomas Stravato, Brenda |
|
1-4 |
Pacheco, and Steven Majeika, the proud grandfather of Louis Stravato, Anthony Stravato and |
|
1-5 |
Evan Pacheco, and great-grandfather of Zachery Shaker-Stravato; and |
|
1-6 |
     WHEREAS, Born in Providence to the late Louis and Rose Stravato, Mr. Stravato was a |
|
1-7 |
hard-working man who had been employed as a sheet metal worker for Annex Sheet Metal for |
|
1-8 |
over 30 years retiring in 1978. He had also served in the U.S. Naval Reserve for four years; and |
|
1-9 |
     WHEREAS, An active and contributing member of the community, Mr. Stravato was a |
|
1-10 |
Providence City Councilman from 1974 until 1989. In addition, he was a member and Past Grand |
|
1-11 |
Knight with the Knights of Columbus Hope Council #398, and a member of the Italo American |
|
1-12 |
Club, the Young Pannese Social Club, and the Cranston City Hall Club; and |
|
1-13 |
     WHEREAS, In addition to his wife and children, Mr. Stravato was the beloved brother of |
|
1-14 |
Gloria Caniglia, Robert Stravato, Carol LaBianca, Edward Stravato, and the late Gaetano Stravato |
|
1-15 |
and Nancy DiConstanzo; and |
|
1-16 |
     WHEREAS, Louis Stravato was a well-respected member of the community and he will |
|
1-17 |
be dearly missed not only by his family, but by all who had the good fortune to have been a part |
|
1-18 |
of his life; now, therefore be it |
|
1-19 |
     RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and |
|
1-20 |
Providence Plantations hereby expresses our deepest sympathies to the entire Stravato family on |
|
1-21 |
the passing of Louis R. Stravato; and be it further |
|
2-1 |
     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and he hereby is authorized and directed to |
|
2-2 |
transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Mrs. Dorothy N. Stravato and Family. |
