RELATING TO RETIREMENT SYSTEM - ADMINISTRATION

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

     SECTION 1. Chapter 36-8 of the General Laws entitled "Retirement System -

Administration" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section:

     36-8-8.3. Early retirement packages. – (a) No state agency, quasi-public agency or any

other agency receiving state funding shall offer, enact or confer special or early retirement

1-5

pension benefits to any individual or group of individuals unless specifically approved and

1-6

enacted by the general assembly.

     SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.

BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL
