RELATING TO FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS -- LICENSED ACTIVITIES

     Introduced By: Representatives Fellela, Cimini, Serpa, and Malik

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

     SECTION 1. Chapter 19-14 of the General Laws entitled "Licensed Activities" is hereby

amended by adding thereto the following section:

     19-14-34. Fingerprinting by financial institutions prohibited. -- No financial

institution doing business in the state of Rhode Island shall cause any person to be fingerprinted

when such person is presenting a valid instrument upon said financial institution for purposes of

1-6

drawing funds from an existing customer's deposit account.

     SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
