It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |

     SECTION 1. Chapter 39-4 of the General Laws entitled "Hearings and Investigations" is |
|

hereby amended by adding thereto the following section: |
|

     39-4-25. Reporting of natural gas emergencies. – All natural gas emergency cases, |
|
1-4 |
including, but not limited to, natural gas leaks, excessive carbon monoxide levels and explosions |
|
1-5 |
must be reported to a dispatch office located in Rhode Island staffed by professionally trained gas |
|
1-6 |
dispatchers. |
|
1-7 |
     SECTION 2. This act shall take effect on July 1, 2012. |
