RELATING TO GENERAL ASSEMBLY -- REDISTRICTING COMMISSION PROCEDURES

     Introduced By: Representatives Lima, Baldelli-Hunt, Ehrhardt, Costa, and Dickinson

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

     SECTION 1. Chapter 22-6 of the General Laws entitled "Committees and Staff" is

hereby amended by adding thereto the following section:

     22-6-16. Testimony before reapportionment commission. – Only state or federal

1-4

elected officials, general assembly employees or retained consultants and their employees shall be

1-5

required to testify under oath when addressing the reapportionment commission. All others shall

1-6

not be compelled to present sworn testimony to the reapportionment commission.

     SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.

BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL
