RELATING TO MILITARY AFFAIRS AND DEFENSE - EXTENSION OF VETERANS'

BENEFITS

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

     SECTION 1. Chapter 30-17.1 of the General Laws entitled "Veterans' Affairs" is hereby

amended by adding thereto the following section:

     30-17.1-6.1. Veterans' transportation assistance. – The director of the department of

human services shall appoint a coordinator in the division of veterans’ affairs to assist and

coordinate the transportation of veterans in need of medical care between the Providence

1-6

veterans’ hospital and the veterans home.

     SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
