EXPRESSING PROFOUND SYMPATHY ON THE PASSING OF MARIE ELIZABETH | |

     WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that this House has learned of the untimely passing |

of Marie Elizabeth Custer, beloved wife of Armand Lefevbre, and predeceased by her former |
1-3 |
husband of thirty-five years, Dr. John Custer. Mrs. Custer was the devoted mother of Anastasia |
1-4 |
Custer and her partner, Jason Pezzullo, Rebecca Townsend and her husband, Thomas, and Kerry |
1-5 |
Feather and her husband, Thomas. She was also the loving grandmother of Thomas, Charles, |
1-6 |
Benjamin, Campbell, and Flannery; and |
1-7 |
     WHEREAS, Born in Pawtucket, Mrs. Custer attended the College of Saint Elizabeth, |
1-8 |
attaining her Bachelor’s degree in History. She also received certificates from Rhode Island |
1-9 |
College and had been a teacher for more than forty years; and |
1-10 |
     WHEREAS, Marie Custer’s loving personality created and nurtured a marriage that |
1-11 |
flourished and a home that was warm and welcoming. She had a full and wonderful life, doting |
1-12 |
on her family, cheering on her favorite sports teams, gardening, and traveling. She was also an |
1-13 |
enthusiastic and humane animal lover and an active board member of Saint Patrick Church; and |
1-14 |
     WHEREAS, A patient and caring nature made Marie Custer the kind of mother and |
1-15 |
grandmother that every child needs and deserves. Her consideration and thoughtfulness |
1-16 |
enveloped her large extended family with whom she had enjoyed a special closeness, including |
1-17 |
her brother, James, her stepchildren, and her nieces and nephews, one of whom is our friend and |
1-18 |
colleague Representative J. Patrick O’Neill; and |
1-19 |
     WHEREAS, Marie Custer was the heart and soul of her family. Her kindheartedness and |
1-20 |
sincerity will forever be indelibly imprinted on the lives and in the cherished memories of her |
2-1 |
entire family. She enriched the lives of all who had the good fortune to have known her and she |
2-2 |
will be dearly missed; now, therefore be it |
2-3 |
     RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and |
2-4 |
Providence Plantations hereby expresses our deepest sympathies to the entire and extended Custer |
2-5 |
and O’Neill families on the passing of Marie Elizabeth Custer. She will be forever remembered |
2-6 |
as a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, and a true and gentle soul; and be it further |
2-7 |
     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and he hereby is authorized and directed to |
2-8 |
transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to Mr. Armand Lefevbre, Ms. Anastasia Custer, |
2-9 |
and The Honorable J. Patrick O’Neill. |
