     WHEREAS, Chef Nino D’Urso, born in Sorrento, Italy, graduated from the prestigious |
|

Instituto Professionale Bi-Stato Culinary School located in Italy. After working as an Executive |
|

Chef at the Little Venice Ristorante, located in Bermuda, he immigrated to Rhode Island; and |
|
1-4 |
     WHEREAS, Upon arrival in Providence, Rhode Island, Chef D’Urso began his illustrious |
|
1-5 |
career as the Executive Chef at the renowned Capriccio’s of Providence, where he has delighted |
|
1-6 |
customers with his extensive skills and creativity, tantalizing the taste-buds of countless Rhode |
|
1-7 |
Islanders for the past 26 years; and |
|
1-8 |
     WHEREAS, Chef D’Urso has garnered a multitude of culinary awards over the past 26 |
|
1-9 |
years, including the celebrated Five Star Diamond Award from the American Academy of |
|
1-10 |
Hospitality Sciences, being selected as one of the world’s finest chefs; and |
|
1-11 |
     WHEREAS, Throughout his long and distinguished career, Chef D’Urso has spent |
|
1-12 |
countless hours mentoring students and fellow chefs, teaching culinary arts, and providing |
|
1-13 |
dazzling culinary delights for his many patrons. His knowledge and dedication to his craft has |
|
1-14 |
enriched the atmosphere and revitalization of Providence and indeed the State of Rhode Island; |
|
1-15 |
now, therefore be it |
|

     RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations |
|
1-17 |
hereby extends our sincerest congratulations to Nino D’Urso on receiving the Chef’s Association |
|
1-18 |
of Rhode Island Lifetime Culinary Achievement Award. We wish him the very best health, future |
|
1-19 |
happiness and success; and be it further |
|

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and he is hereby authorized and directed to |
|

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Nino D’Urso. |
