CONGRATULATING MATTHEW MONIZ ON ATTAINING THE RANK OF EAGLE

SCOUT TROOP 7 - BRISTOL

     WHEREAS, In a society that grows increasingly fragmented, and too often tempts its

youth to selfish and unwise decisions, it is a special young man who chooses to dedicate himself

1-3

to the service of others by practicing the noble ideals of the Scout Oath and Scout Law; and

1-4

     WHEREAS, In spite of peer pressure and other influences, there are those teenagers who

1-5

rise above the rest. Matthew Moniz is just such a first-rate youth, and his accomplishment is truly

1-6

deserving of our recognition; and

1-7

     WHEREAS, Matthew Moniz, a leader and member of Boy Scouts, Troop 7, Bristol, has

1-8

displayed the focus, persistence and initiative required to attain the highest honor in scouting, the

1-9

Eagle Badge of the Boy Scouts of America; now, therefore be it

1-10

     RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and

1-11

Providence Plantations hereby honors Matthew Moniz for all he has done to attain the rank of

1-12

Eagle Scout. Convinced that Matthew’s distinguished career in Scouting will prepare him for a

1-13

life replete with accomplishments and success, the membership is, likewise, certain that he will

1-14

continue to dedicate a large part of that life to the service of others; and be it further

1-15

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and he is hereby authorized and directed to

1-16

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Eagle Scout Matthew Moniz.
