WHEREAS, Hilary Dionne, daughter of Steven and Donna Dionne of Cumberland, has |

been selected Salutatorian of the Class of 2003 at Cumberland High School. She is an |
|

extraordinary young woman and her accomplishments are truly worthy and deserving of our |
|
1-4 |
recognition and praise; and |
|
1-5 |
WHEREAS, An exceptional student, Hilary is a member of the Rhode Island Honor |
|
1-6 |
Society, the National Honor Society, was awarded the prestigious Dartmouth Book Award and |
|
1-7 |
was a National Merit finalist as a result of her outstanding scores on the Scholastic Aptitude Test |
|
1-8 |
(SAT); and |
|
1-9 |
WHEREAS, In addition to her academic successes, Hilary has been active in many |
|
1-10 |
extracurricular activities, including community service, yearbook staff, the Renaissance Games, |
|
1-11 |
and has earned All-State honors in cross-country and indoor and outdoor track; and |
|
1-12 |
WHEREAS, This dedicated young woman has also been an active member of Girl Scout |
|
1-13 |
Troop 430 where she earned the prestigious Silver Award; and |
|
1-14 |
WHEREAS, In the fall, Hilary is planning to attend Dartmouth College in Hanover, New |
|
1-15 |
Hampshire. She looks forward to studying economics and environmental studies with hopes of |
|
1-16 |
pursuing a career in marketing or advertising. She also intends to run cross-country and track at |
|
1-17 |
the College; now, therefore be it |
|

RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and |
|
1-19 |
Providence Plantations hereby recognizes and congratulates Hilary Dionne on being named |
|

Salutatorian of the Cumberland High School Class of 2003. The entire membership extend best |
|
2-2 |
wishes for her continued success and happiness; and be it further |
|

RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and he is hereby authorized and directed to |
|

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Hilary Dionne. |
