CONGRATULATING THE TIVERTON FIELD HOCKEY TEAM FOR WINNING THE DIVISION II FIELD HOCKEY CHAMPIONSHIP AND THE STATE CHAMPIONSHIP OF DIVISION II FIELD HOCKEY

WHEREAS, The Tiverton Field Hockey team continued its dominance this season by concluding another championship season with an overwhelming 4-0 shutout performance against rival Rocky Hill; and

WHEREAS, Tiverton was led in the Championship by the superior play of Bethanie Raposa and Kristen Pimental. Bethanie scored 3 goals, all set up by assists from Kristen, and Kristen Pimental scored a goal herself; and

WHEREAS, This was the culmination of an incredible season of dominating play for the Tiverton Field Hockey team. Besides going undefeated, Tiverton gave up only 9 goals and only allowed 35 shots this season on Goal-tender Lindsay Souza; and

WHEREAS, The incredible leadership of Coach Ken Dias led Tiverton to 20 straight wins in a row, 3 straight Division II Field Hockey Championships and 3 straight State Championships of Division II Field Hockey; now, therefore be it

RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations hereby congratulates Head Coach Dias, Assistant Coach Ellie Byrne and the entire Tiverton Field Hockey Team for its championship victories and record-setting season; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and he is hereby authorized and directed to transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to Head Coach Ken Dias, Assistant Coach Ellie Byrne, and players Lindsay Souza, Kristen Pimental, Sarah Forrest, Jen Williams, Amber Alvarez, Maria Soler-Du Breuil, Kara Baylog, Andrea Perry, Melissa Camara, Deanne Viveiros, Bethanie Raposa, Melissa Milot, Rebecca Anderson and Courtney Wakem.
