EXPRESSING CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF THE HONORABLE MARC C. | |

     WHEREAS, It is with deep sadness and profound sympathy that we mourn the passing |
|

on April 4, 2011, of our former colleague, The Honorable Marc C. Lauzon; and |
|
1-3 |
     WHEREAS, Born in Woonsocket, Marc Lauzon was the son of the late Walter and |
|
1-4 |
Juliette Lauzon. He attended Woonsocket High School, was a graduate of the New England |
|
1-5 |
Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences, and had served our country in the Rhode Island National |
|
1-6 |
Guard during the Vietnam War; and |
|
1-7 |
     WHEREAS, Mr. Lauzon was employed as a Funeral Director at the family’s business, |
|
1-8 |
Joseph Lauzon & Sons Memorial Funeral Home in Woonsocket for many years, and had also |
|
1-9 |
worked at Lowe’s for several years; and |
|
1-10 |
     WHEREAS, Making their home in Woonsocket, Marc and his beloved wife of forty- |
|
1-11 |
three years, Suzanne, were the proud parents of Keith Lauzon, and his wife, Susan, and Todd |
|
1-12 |
Lauzon, and his wife, Christina. He was also the cherished grandfather of Marc, Nicholas, and |
|
1-13 |
Owen; and |
|
1-14 |
      WHEREAS, In February of 1992, The Honorable Marc Lauzon was elected to the Rhode |
|
1-15 |
Island House of Representatives in what was then House District 65. Over his years of service |
|
1-16 |
with the General Assembly, he not only earned the admiration of his colleagues, but also the |
|
1-17 |
respect of his constituency in the City of Woonsocket; and |
|
1-18 |
     WHEREAS, Mr. Lauzon was always wholly involved with local organizations and |
|
1-19 |
various causes. He was a member of the NEI Third Generation Club, a member and past Exalted |
|
2-1 |
Ruler for the Woonsocket Lodge of Elks P.O.E. 850, a member of the Cercle Laurier, IWC of |
|
2-2 |
Woonsocket and the Clown Unit of the Shriners of RI, and a Past Master of the Mount Moriah |
|
2-3 |
Lodge #8. He was also the Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Woonsocket Harris Public |
|
2-4 |
Library, and a former member of the Woonsocket Rotary; and |
|
2-5 |
     WHEREAS, Marc Lauzon was a gentleman who enjoyed time with his family, golf, |
|
2-6 |
woodworking, and cooking. He whole-heartedly enriched the lives of all who were fortunate |
|
2-7 |
enough to have been part of his life, and he will be sadly missed; now, therefore be it |
|
2-8 |
     RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations |
|
2-9 |
hereby expresses our deepest sympathies to the family of The Honorable Marc C. Lauzon on his |
|
2-10 |
passing; and be it further |
|
2-11 |
     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and he hereby is authorized and directed to |
|
2-12 |
transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Mrs. Suzanne H. Lauzon and Family. |
