CONGRATULATING THE MOUNT ST. CHARLES BOYS HOCKEY TEAM AND HEAD | |
COACH BILL BELISLE ON WINNING THE RHODE ISLAND BOYS DIVISION I | |

     WHEREAS, The vaunted and legendary Mount St. Charles Boys Hockey Team once |

again prevailed against a tough and talented Bishop Hendricken team to win the 2011 State Title. |

Mount St. Charles capped off a stellar season, compiling an outstanding 22-1-1 record against the |
1-4 |
Division I competition, and had an overall record of 28-1-2; and |
1-5 |
     WHEREAS, Mount St. Charles won its 42nd High School Hockey State Title in |
1-6 |
dominating fashion at Schneider Arena. The team overcame an early 1-0 deficit and won 7-2 to |
1-7 |
sweep Bishop Hendricken 2-0 in the best of three series. Mount limited Bishop Hendricken to a |
1-8 |
season low of thirteen shots on net while they relentlessly attacked the Bishop Hendricken net. |

Mount was led by the outstanding play of Senior Co-Captains Zach Samborsky and Trevor |
1-10 |
Plante, both of whom scored two goals in the deciding game; and |
1-11 |
     WHEREAS, In the first game of the series, Mount won a thrilling nail-biter by the score |
1-12 |
of 5-4. This game was won in spectacular fashion by Senior Co-Captain Zach Samborsky when |
1-13 |
he scored in the final two minutes of the game to break a 4-4 tie; and |
1-14 |
     WHEREAS, Mount St. Charles was once again led to victory by legendary coach Bill |
1-15 |
Belisle, the winningest high school coach in the country, who incredibly led Mount St. Charles to |
1-16 |
26 hockey title wins in a row from 1968-1993. This year’s championship was his 30th title, his |
1-17 |
fourth in a row. Co-head coach David Belisle, Bill’s son, was also an integral component to the |
1-18 |
team’s success. His steady leadership and innovative coaching tactics were a key component to |
1-19 |
Mount St. Charles’ success on the ice; and |

     WHEREAS, Winning a State Title in any sport is impossible without the complete |

dedication and unselfish support of every member of the team and coaching staff. In addition to |

winning the 2011 Rhode Island Division I Boys State Hockey Championship. We further |

congratulate Head Coach Bill Belisle on winning his 30th Rhode Island Division I Boys State |
