EXPRESSING CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF RICHARD F. SIEBEN | |

     WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that this Senate has learned of the passing of Richard |
|

F. “Red” Sieben, the devoted husband of fifty-six years to Yetta Sieben, and the loving father of |
|
1-3 |
four sons, Mark Sieben and his wife Lynn, David Sieben and his wife Bonnie, Richard Sieben |
|
1-4 |
and his former wife Susan, and Darryl Sieben and his wife Martha. He was also the doting |
|
1-5 |
grandfather of twelve grandchildren, Scott, Brian, Rebecca, Connor, Hannah, Lucas, Alexander, |
|
1-6 |
Nicholas, Julee, Timothy, Christina, and Megan; and |
|
1-7 |
     WHEREAS, Son of the late Curtis and Alberta Sieben, Mr. Sieben was born in |
|
1-8 |
Worcester, Massachusetts; and |
|
1-9 |
     WHEREAS, Mr. Sieben was a graduate of Salve Regina University, where he attained |
|
1-10 |
his B.A. in criminal justice. Upon graduation, he joined the Portsmouth Police Department, |
|
1-11 |
where he retired at the rank of Sergeant after twenty-seven years of service to the community; and |
|
1-12 |
     WHEREAS, A loyal and hardworking man, Mr. Sieben was also employed as a security |
|
1-13 |
guard at Jai Alai for many years. In his spare time, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle, which he |
|
1-14 |
regularly rode in the annual Newport Police Parade, dressed as a Keystone Cop; and |
|
1-15 |
      WHEREAS, Our thoughts and hearts hold great empathy and sorrow for Richard |
|
1-16 |
Sieben’s family. He was a loving husband and father and a devoted grandfather, brother, and |
|
1-17 |
uncle. He enriched the lives of all who knew him and he will be dearly missed in the community; |
|
1-18 |
now, therefore be it |
|
1-19 |
      RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations |
|
1-20 |
hereby expresses our deepest sympathies to Mrs. Yetta Sieben and the entire Sieben Family on |
|
2-1 |
the passing of Richard Sieben; and be it further |
|
2-2 |
     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and he is hereby authorized and directed to |
|
2-3 |
transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to Mrs. Yetta Sieben and Family. |
