RELATING TO RESIDENTIAL RENTAL REAL ESTATE

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

     SECTION 1. Section 34-18-57 of the General Laws in Chapter 34-18 entitled

"Residential Landlord and Tenant Act" is hereby amended to read as follows:

     34-18-57. Providence absentee landlord enforcement act. 34-18-57. Providence and

Warwick absentee landlord enforcement act. -- Commencing January 1, 1996, all All persons,

corporations, organizations, associations or other legal entities owning and leasing property in the

1-6

city cities of Providence or Warwick shall register their names, home addresses, including zip

1-7

code, and telephone number with the recorder of deeds for the their city of Providence in the city

1-8

where such property is located.

     SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.

     This act would require all property owners in Providence and Warwick to register their
