STATE OF RHODE ISLAND | |
| |
IN GENERAL ASSEMBLY | |
| |
JANUARY SESSION, A.D. 2007
| |
____________ | |
| |
S E N A T E R E S O L U T I O N | |
CONGRATULATING SENATOR HANNA M. GALLO AND HER HUSBAND, RUSSELL,
ON THE LONG-AWAITED COMPLETION OF THEIR HOME
|
      |
|
      |
Introduced By: Senators P Fogarty, Paiva-Weed, Goodwin, J Montalbano, and Walaska
     Date Introduced: June 22, 2007
Referred To: Recommended for Immediate Consideration
1-1 |
WHEREAS, A home is more than a building; it is a place of repose and sanctuary where |
1-2 |
memories are built, families are cherished, and love is heightened; and |
1-3 |
WHEREAS, Senator Hanna M. Gallo and her husband, Russell, have been constructing |
1-4 |
their new abode at 285 Meshanticut Valley Parkway in Cranston, Rhode Island since shortly after |
1-5 |
the Jurassic period, and the residence is finally complete; and |
1-6 |
WHEREAS, It is rumored that construction of this residence may have taken longer than |
1-7 |
the time to construct the great pyramids; and |
1-8 |
WHEREAS, Most of their colleagues knew better than to ask the Gallos about the |
1-9 |
progress of the project for fear of long and detailed accounts of the challenges they faced with |
1-10 |
permits and contractors, as well as comparisons with construction of the Masonic Temple; and |
1-11 |
WHEREAS, New Senate stationary reflecting the new address was ready for Senator |
1-12 |
Gallo’s use as of Christmas…of 2005. At the rate things were going, there was some concern |
1-13 |
that the Senate would be redistricted again before the Gallos moved into their new residence; and |
1-14 |
WHEREAS, There is absolutely no truth to the rumor that the draperies throughout the |
1-15 |
house have been cut from the same fabric as the infamous matching shirts Russell and Hanna |
1-16 |
wore several years ago to a Senate picnic; and |
1-17 |
WHEREAS, For many years the Gallos have enjoyed the hospitality of others, now it is |
1-18 |
their time to host, and the members of this Chamber are anxiously awaiting the housewarming |
1-19 |
party. Of course, all couples are to wear matching shirts; now, therefore, be it |
2-1 |
RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations |
2-2 |
hereby extends its sincere and heartfelt congratulations to Senator Hanna and Russell Gallo on the |
2-3 |
completion of their new home, and wishes them and their family many years of happiness and |
2-4 |
enjoyment in it; and be it further |
2-5 |
RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and he hereby is authorized and directed to |
2-6 |
transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Senator Hanna M. Gallo and Russell Gallo. |
