EXPRESSING PROFOUND SYMPATHY ON THE PASSING OF MARGUERITE E. | |

     WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that this House of Representatives has learned of the |

passing of Marguerite E. Carcieri, beloved wife of the late Nicola Carcieri, her high school |
1-3 |
sweetheart, and the devoted mother of The Honorable Donald Carcieri, Governor of the State of |
1-4 |
Rhode Island, Joseph Carcieri, Gail Gagnon, Elizabeth Petrangelo and the late Joan Carcieri; and |
1-5 |
      WHEREAS, Born in East Greenwich to Ivar and Ingrid Anderson in December of 1919, |
1-6 |
Mrs. Carcieri was one of nine children in a large and loving family. She had five brothers, John, |
1-7 |
Robert, and the late Raymond, Clinton and Ivar Anderson, and three sisters, Muriel, Marjorie and |
1-8 |
Mary Ann. She was also a doting grandmother to eleven grandchildren and twenty great- |
1-9 |
grandchildren; and |
1-10 |
      WHEREAS, Marguerite’s loving personality created and nurtured a marriage that |
1-11 |
flourished for fifty-six years, and a home that was warm and welcoming. She doted on her |
1-12 |
family, showering them with laughter and warmth. Her vivacious and caring nature made her the |
1-13 |
kind of mother and grandmother that every child needs and deserves; and |
1-14 |
      WHEREAS, Marguerite was the heart and soul of her family. In addition, she was a |
1-15 |
volunteer for Meals On Wheels. Her strength and sincerity will forever be indelibly imprinted on |
1-16 |
the lives and in the cherished memories of her entire family. She enriched the lives of all who |
1-17 |
had the good fortune to have known her and she will be dearly missed; now, therefore be it |
1-18 |
      RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and |
1-19 |
Providence Plantations hereby expresses our deepest sympathies to The Honorable Donald |
2-1 |
Carcieri and the entire Carcieri family on the passing of his beloved mother, Marguerite E. |
2-2 |
Carcieri. She will be forever remembered as a devoted wife and loving mother; and be it further |
2-3 |
      RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and he hereby is authorized and directed to |
2-4 |
transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to The Honorable Donald Carcieri, Governor of |
2-5 |
the State of Rhode Island. |
