It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:
SECTION 1. Chapter 28-3 of the General Laws entitled "Employment of Women and Children" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section:
{ADD 28-3-3.2. Revocation or suspension of permit. -- ADD} {ADD The permit of any child issued pursuant to section 28-3-3 may be revoked or suspended by the school committee which issued said permit if upon the recommendation of the principal of the school which the child attends, to the school committee, that the issuance of the permit appears detrimental to the well-being of the student, detrimental to the academic success of the student or the student has failed to comply with all of the legal requirements concerning school attendance. The child shall be afforded notice and a hearing before the school committee prior to any revocation or suspension shall take effect. The refusal of any child to surrender his or her permit after it has been revoked shall be a violation of this chapter. ADD}
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
