| RELATING TO AMENDING THE CHARTER OF NORTH PROVIDENCE |

| It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: |
| SECTION 1. Article 3 Chapter 1 of Chapter 237 of the 1973 Public Laws entitled "An |
| Act to Incorporate the Town of North Providence, as amended", is hereby further amended to |
| read as follows: |

| 3-1-3. Compensation |
| Beginning with the fiscal year commencing on July 1, 2005, a salary of seventy-five |
| thousand dollars ($75,000) per year shall be paid to the mayor For fiscal year 2020, a salary at the |
| rate of eighty-five thousand dollars ($85,000) per year, effective January 1, 2020, shall be paid to |
| the Mayor mayor. For fiscal year 2021, a salary at the rate of ninety-five thousand dollars |
| ($95,000) per year, shall be paid to the Mayor mayor. Beginning with fiscal year 2022 and each |
| fiscal year thereafter, a salary of ($105,000.00) per year shall be paid to the Mayor mayor. As |
| part of the mayor's compensation package, the mayor shall contribute five percent (5%) of the |
| working rate of health care as a co-payment for the healthcare. The mayor shall be compensated |
| for all reasonable and necessary expenses incurred in the performance of his duties provided that, |
| within ten (10) days after he incurs such expenses he submits to the town treasurer vouchers |
| certifying the amount of the expenses and the reason therefor. (97-S 912, May 7, 1997; 2000-H |

| SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. |
